Obituary

Samuel Blaine Jackson of St. James passed away with his family at his side on Saturday November 1, 2008 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center. He was 71 years 10 months and 12 days of age.

Sam, as he was know by his family and friends, was born December 20, 1936 the son of the late Lloyd and Julia Williams Jackson.

On July 25, 1958, at the St. James Christian Church, Sam was united in marriage to Linda Woolard. Performing the ceremony was Fred Barber.

Sam is survived by his dear wife Linda of the home, Son: Steve and wife Erica of St. James and one Sister: Fern Heflin of Springfield. Sister-In-Law: Helen Sewell and husband Bill of Rolla, Cousin: Charlotte Williams and husband John of St. James. Along with Kaylee, Kenzie and Kori, his 3 grandchildren whom Sam thought so much of.

Sam was born and raised in St. James. He graduated from John F. Hodge High School and worked for his dad at the family Bakery and Gas Station. Sam was called to serve his country and after his military service he married Linda Woolard. Sam owned the Taxi Cab in St. James for many years and retired from Chrysler having worked for 25 years. He worked for Stanley's Garden Center and for many years he worked for the Jones Funeral Home as their hearse driver. He also enjoyed being an election Judge and spending the day with his friends. Sam was baptized and attended the St. James Christian Church as long as he could until his health declined. Sam had a great love for his family and especially taking care of his special grandchildren: Keylee, Kenzie and Kori. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services
Sam will lie in state Monday November 3, 2008 from 4-8 P.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James

Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday November 4, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Aaron Jeffers officiating. Don Davis will provide music. Pallbearers will be John Williams, Dick Branstetter, Mark Sewell, Jay Passmore, A.C. Harris and Richard Jones. Burial will with full Military Honors will be held at the family plot at the Rolla City Cemetery. Memorial may be given to the Tri-County Humane Society.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James. Mo.
