Ruth Ellen Bullock of St. James, Missouri passed away Monday, July 21, 2025 at Aurora Health and Rehab in Rolla, Missouri. She was 90 years of age.

Ruth, the daughter of the late David Leonard and Ruby Nell (McGaffin) Bennett, was born April 28, 1935 in Cuba, Missouri.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Terri Woodley of St. James, Missouri; her sons, Larry Bullock of Walsenburg, Colorado and Steve Bullock of Little Rock, Arkansas; granddaughter, Brooke Cook  of Rolla, Missouri; grandson, Lee Brown of St. Louis, Missouri; great grandsons: Logan Hadley, Dylan Cook (Abby), Bryce Hadley, Michael Hadley, Aaron Cook, Ryan Hadley, and Gabe Kebiditswe; great-grandchildren, Logan Cook and Charlotte Cook; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Jason Hadley; her son-in-law, Michael Woodley; brother, David Bennett; and sisters, Helen Branson and Arline Bennett.

Ruth was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of so many who knew her. Ruth loved gardening; she spent many hours tending to her flowers and vegetable gardens. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many years; her gentle guidance and unwavering faith inspired many young hearts to follow Jesus. After retiring as a seamstress from California Manufacturing, her love for children led her to work in daycares often welcoming the early arrivals and serving them hot breakfasts. She as well as her treats were loved by many little ones over the years.

She attended the St. James Christian Church for over 70 years; she enjoyed singing in the church choir, bringing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to church, inviting children who lived near her to Vacation Bible School, and helping in the kitchen. Her legacy of love, faith, and dedication will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home at St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 25, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Mosher officiating. Pallbearers will be Logan Hadley, Bryce Hadley, Michael Hadley, Ryan Hadley, Dylan Cook, Aaron Cook, Lee Brown, and Martez Jones. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.
