Ronald F. Smith passed away at his home in St. James, Missouri on Monday, February 4, 2008. He was 67 years, 11 months, and 3 days of age.

Ronald was born on March 1, 1940 to his parents Albert and Augusta (Cochran) Smith. On July 4, 1967 Ron was united in marriage to Mary Ann Reynolds and to this union one son: Randy Smith was born. Then on August 15, 1979, Ron was united in marriage to Lillian Doris Craig.

Ron worked for the City of Rolla landfill; was the assistant Fire Chief of St. James; Auxilliary Police of St. James. He also worked at Cardetti's Furniture in St. James. He worked for many years for Auto of Yester Years restoring cars with the Carney family. He also did carpenter work. He was a lifetime member of NRA; a member of the Fire Department; and the St. James Christian Church of St. James, Missouri where he accepted Christ and was baptised. He loved pigeon shows and was a life member of the Lake of the Ozarks Pigeon Club. He especially enjoyed visiting his friends and making his rounds. He really enjoyed restoring cars and attending swap meets.

Ron is survived by his wife of the home: Lillian Doris Smith of St. James, Missouri; one son: Randy Smith and his wife Kristina of St. James, Missouri; two daughters: Janet Douglas and husband David of Springfield, Missouri; and Susie Swezey and husband John of Arcadia, Kansas; one sister: Ann Johnson and husband Larry of Owensville, Missouri; and his aunt: Maudie McDowell of St. James, Missouri who was instrumental in the raising of Ron. He is further survived by 6 Grandchildren: Steven, Brandon and Lucas Smith; Sean and Jared Douglas and Melanie Jeffres. Along with one Greatgranson Gage Jeffers.

Preceding Ron in death is his parents: Albert and Augusta (Cochran) Smith; one sister: Gertrude Ray; one half brother: Edward William Gray who passed away in 1958; one half sister: Sarah Gertie Gray.

Services
Visitation for Ronald will be held from 5 - 8 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel of St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Ed McDonald officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Tucker, Steve Rivers, Jimmy Craft, Shawn Douglas, Max Moreland, and Kevin McCabe. Music will be provided by Don Davis. Honoring Ron's love for antique cars; His body was taken to the St. James Cemetery in the Jones Funeral Home 1951 Cadillac Hearse.

Memorials are suggested to the St. James Christian Church in St. James, Missouri.
