IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roger Dale
Pruett
March 31, 1961 – December 11, 2024
Roger Dale Pruett, 63, is singing "How Great Thou Art" at the throne of his Heavenly Father. "The greatest thing in my entire life was giving my soul to Jesus." - Roger Pruett. With his wife and daughters by his side, Roger passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in the home he designed and built; meticulously crafted and warm with love.
March 31, 1961, Roger was born in Rolla, MO; the first child of Jack and Joyce Pruett. Upholding legacy; he lived and worked the family's century farm in Vichy, MO. Operating with a deep responsibility to pass down heritage that began in 1875; Mr. Pruett's grandchildren are the 8th generation to enjoy the land. Roger had many pursuits including; Circle P Farms custom hay, and RP Home Design. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time hunting and teaching his grandchildren the art of nature. He taught them all about the magic hour: when the world wakes up.
Roger's first love was music and he was an honorable showman. Playing country & western music throughout his teens and twenties, his voice was iconic. Managing Axley's Country Hoedown, a fully produced live music show in Cassville, MO was a highlight for Roger. "I enjoyed when the house lights would go down, the stage lights would come up, the curtains opened and things started to happen." - Roger Pruett.
It was his search for a female piano player and vocalist that led him to his forever love. Only six weeks after that infamous audition, Roger Dale Pruett and Phyllis Kay Ridenour were married on April 4, 1987. Their perfect harmony continued for nearly 38 years. With the toughest tender heart, Roger loved Phyllis with everything he had. A marriage, in the strongest sense of the word; they were a team - singing, raising a family, farming. No matter the task, they would conquer it, together.
Roger and Phyllis had two girls, Andrea (Andi / Big Girl) and Jessica (Jessi / Lil' Bit), ideal compliments of one another. Raising his daughters with grit, resilience, and tenacity; there wasn't a more proud father. Andrea and husband Michael have been married for 17 years, with grandson Ezra. Jessica and Kirk have been married seven years, granddaughters Paisley & Scarlett, Kilee & Kashlee, and grandson Kanton.
Beginning construction trades in high-school, Roger was an unmatched, dedicated sales professional in the lumber and building materials industry. Always working for family-owned lumber companies; TapJac, Hermann's, Meek's and lastly Perkins. Roger held positions including Vice President, Foreman, and Outside Sales/Management Team. Known as "The Roger Pruett Package", he is the only man that could draft a full set of house plans from a napkin drawing, order materials with pinpoint accuracy based off of square footage, and often coach contractors on what they would need to build a beautiful home.
Roger Dale Pruett was an indescribable man. Faith, family, hard work, love… there aren't enough words to capture the essence of his life, and the impact that he had on those around him. His legacy will continue, and his lessons will forever be imprinted on our hearts.
