Ray Highfill of St. James, Mo., formerly of Doniphan, MO was born June 3rd, 1927 in Oxly, MO to Nadine and James D. Highfill and passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Ray Highfill was 84 years, 1 month and 27 days of age.

Ray was a farmer, an avid hunter and fisherman and a devoted sports fan. He was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church.

Ray loved and was dearly loved by his extended family. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Jim Hays of Poplar Bluff, MO; a brother: Jim Highfill of St. James, MO. and three generations of nieces and nephews, all of whom knew him as "Uncle Doc".

Preceding Ray Highfill in death is his parents: James D. and Nadine (Ray) Highfill; one sister-in-law: Lois Highfill.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 9 - 11 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James with Amy Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery in Oxly, MO. with graveside services at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday.
