Peggy Joan Chears of St. James, Missouri passed away at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center on Sunday, August 26, 2007. She was 64 years and 6 days of age.

Peggy was born on August 20, 1943 to her parents: Roy and Billie (Carpenter) Atwell.

Peggy is survived by her husband: John Chears of St. James, Missouri; one son: Roy Kelly Thornton and wife Janis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; mother: Billie Atwell of Ft. Worth, Texas; one sister: Lynn Roberts and husband Ron of Ft. Worth, Texas; one grandchild: Dylan Thornton and a host of family and friends. Peggy will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Preceding Peggy in death is her father: Roy Atwell.

Services
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 6 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Missouri with Reverend Mick Thrasher officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will be in the family plot in the St. James Cemetery.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
