Paul Dennis Smith of St. James, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri. He was 64 years, 5 months and 5 days of age.

Paul was born on November 12, 1943 in Mason City, Nebraska to his parents: Walter K. and Bertha E. (Reed) Smith. He was united in marriage to Linda Kay Shimon on November 16, 1985 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Paul is survived by his wife of the home: Linda Kay Smith; and two sisters: Jewel Smith of Newburg, Missouri and Wanda Amundson of Hayward, California; along with extended family members; nieces and nephews. Paul will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding Paul in death is his parents: Walter K. and Bertha E. (Reed) Smith; five brothers: John, Bob, Walter, Larry and Charles Smith; two sisters: Karen and Juanita.

Paul served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from September 6, 1963 to August 8, 1968. Paul loved his family and loved the outdoors. He worked for Town and Country Super Market in St. James and for the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James.

Services
Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday April 21, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Pastor Phil Cox officiating. Burial with full military honors will be conducted at the St. James Cemetery.

Visitation for Paul Smith will be held from 12 Noon Monday April 21, 2008 until time of the funeral.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
