Norma Joan Mosher, of St. James, Missouri, passed away on September 4, 2026, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. She was born in Belle, Missouri, on September 15, 1937, to George and Viola Lange.

Joan lived a life defined by hard work, creativity, faith, and deep devotion to her family. In her early years, she owned and operated a dairy farm in High Gate, Missouri, where she learned the values of grit and perseverance. She later worked at the Weber Dress Factory in St. James, creating beautiful bridal attire with her skilled hands. Her talent for sewing and design continued through her custom drapery and upholstery business, where her craftsmanship brightened homes throughout the community.

Joan spent many years as the head cook at the Missouri Veterans Home, where she was known for her dedication, kindness, and the pride she took in preparing meals for the residents. Her fried chicken became legendary - a dish her family insists can never be duplicated.

Outside of work, Joan loved dancing and cherished her time at church. Her faith was steady, and her joy for music and movement stayed with her throughout her life.

Above all, Joan's greatest calling was her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children: Robyn Wheeeler, Jill Mosher, and Timothy Mosher. She was a proud grandmother to Jami (Venk Lakshminarayanan) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ashley (Corey Harrison ) of Yukon, Oklahoma. She adored her three great-grandchildren: Vaughn Beezley, Brecht Beezley, and Grier Beezley, who brought her endless joy.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Mosher; her son Timothy Mosher; her daughter Jill Mosher; her parents George and Viola Lange; and her brothers Jerry, Phillip, Gary, and Charles "Buck" Lange.

She is survived by her daughter Robyn and husband, Wayne; her granddaughters Jami and Ashley; her great-grandchildren Vaughn, Brecht, and Grier; her beloved sister Tyke and husband Glen of Redbird, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Joan shared a special, lifelong bond with her sister Tyke. Their relationship was one of deep affection, loyalty, and unwavering love. They were not just sisters, but best friends-devoted to one another through every season of life, and their closeness remained a constant source of strength and joy.

Joan's legacy is one of strength, creativity, faith, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be David Simley, Ron Simley, Jr., Timothy Simley, John Pryor, Shannon Dahms, and Paul Seddon. Burial will be in High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the Thompson Center in Columbia, MO; High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery; or St. John Lutheran Church.
