Obituary

Nancy Jeanne Duncan (Brezette), 84, of St. James, Missouri, formally of Berkley, Michigan, passed away Sunday, June 21st, 2026, with her loving family by her side.


Nancy was born on October 26, 1941, in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1959. Nancy later married Norman Ray Duncan, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and community.


Nancy was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness and caring spirit touched many lives. She was actively involved at St. John Lutheran Church in St. James, Missouri, where she faithfully served as treasurer and gave generously of her time and dedication.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Ray Duncan; her parents, Warren E. Brezette and Egberdina 'Dena' VanAmayden; her daughter, Shelli Lea Black (nee Morefield); her granddaughter, Cassie Lea Brady (nee Black); and her brother-in-law, Samuel 'Walt' Walker.


Nancy is survived by her brother, Michael W. (Jill) Brezette of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey; her sister, Karen L. Walker of Spring City, Tennessee; her son, Scot T. (Debi) Morefield of Tawas City, Michigan; her son, Bryan S. Duncan of St. James, Missouri; her grandson, Cody R. (Katie) Weis of Marilla; and her great-granddaughter.


Nancy will be remembered for her deep faith, love of family, willingness to serve others, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
