Murel Virginia Crafton passed away at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla on February 27, 2006. She was 74 years of age.

Murel was born at St. James, Missouri on February 4, 1932 to her parents: Lloyd and Della (Mayberry) Frey.

Murel owned the Murel's Beauty Shop for ten years. She was also owner of Crafton Hardware Store for five years. Murel was an avid reader. She loved to cook for her family.
Murel was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star,and Past Worthy Matron; also a member of the Methodist Church. She was respected for her openess and honesty.

Murel is survived by four sons: Danny Pherigo and wife Ginny of St. James, Missouri; Matthew Pherigo and wife Pamela of St. James, Missouri; Doug Crafton and wife Rita of Amerillo, Texas; and David Crafton and wife Sheryl of Amerillo, Texas; two daughters: Peggy Hamlin and husband James of Nashville, Tennessee; and Roxan Hayes and husband Gary of St. James, Missouri; two sisters: Shirley Kuntz and Linda Wools of St. James, Missouri.

Preceding Murel in death is her parents: Lloyd and Della (Mayberry) Frey; husband: Leroy Crafton; and one brother: Carl Frey.

Services
Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in St. James, Missouri with Pastor Amy Turner officiating.

Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers to the St. James Methodist Church, St. James, Missouri.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
