Melba Eileen Kolumba, 88, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina formerly of St. James, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 in Conway, South Carolina.

Melba was born in Safe, Missouri on July 6, 1922, the daughter of the late Fred and Laura Picker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Kolumba on May 24, 2005, and a sister, Eva Markel. Melba attended the Myrtle Beach Church of Christ when her health permitted and had worshiped with the St. James Church of Christ before moving to South Caroline to be near her son.

Surviving are her son, John Kolumba and his wife, Sharon of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Fred Picker of Arkansas; two sisters, Freida Potter of New Hampshire and Edra Byrd of California; three grandchildren, Adam, Tyler and Grant.

Services
Melba Kolumba will lie in state Saturday April 2, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday April 3, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James,with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
