Matthew Bruce Dixon, 90, of Amarillo died on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Memorial services were held 1:00 pm, Friday, January 2, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.

Matthew Dixon was born on May 30, 1924 in the Bronx, NY to Alexander and Patricia Dixon. Matthew was a mechanical engineer for Boeing. Matthew loved to swim and work in his woodworking shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one son.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark Dixon and wife Vicky of St. James, MO. and Stephen Dixon and wife Tammy of Amarillo; a sister, Eleanor Chailkowski of Claverick, NY; an ex-wife, Lela Steen of St. James, MO.; five grandchildren, Dustin, Chevy, Dillon, Jessica and Melissa; and two great grandchildren.

Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Graveside Services for the interment of the ashes will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 22, 2015 at the Flat Grove Cemetery in St. James, Missouri with Father Charles Pardee officiating. Military Honors will be assisted by the St. James V.F.W. Post 2608.
