Mary Elizabeth Skyles of St. James was born in St. James, MO on August 8, 1942, and passed away on July 16, 2022, in Columbia, MO, at the age of 79 years. She was the daughter of Lyman J. and Edna W. Geren Skyles.
She is survived by three brothers: Chuck(Connie) Skyles of Rockwall, TX, Harry (Betty) Skyles of Jacksonville, AR, and Richard Skyles of Afton, MO, along with five sisters: Edith(David) Schroyer of Cuba, MO, Anna Skyles and Dorothy Skyles of St. James, MO, Sharon (Louis) Jones of Longview, TX, Carla (Charlie) Scantlin of Cuba, MO, 2 sisters-In-law: Dora Skyles of St. James and Mary K. Skyles of Salem, MO, along with a host of nephews and nieces.
Mary Skyles is preceded in death by her parents: Lyman J. and Edna W. Skyles, one sister Margaret (Teddle) I. Jose; 4 brothers, Lyman E. Skyles, George V. Skyles, Norman E. Skyles, and one infant, along with I nephew, 1 great nephew, and grandparents.
Mary loved to watch and listen to the birds and wildlife. She loved to read her Bible and listen to gospel music. Wildlife was very plentiful at her home, hummingbirds would dart back and forth, and the turkeys and their young would come in the yard, along with deer and rabbits. Mary also loved her beautiful roses, pansies, and Irises.
Mary Skyles will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO, with Stephen Brubaker Officiating. Pallbearers will be James Scantlin, David Scantlin, Jason Hinson, Jonathan Skyles, James Skyles, and Chris Werline. Burial will be in the family plot at the Wishon Cemetery in St. James,
