Marion Mike Sbabo of St. James, Mo. passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018 at his home in rural St. James, Mo.  Mike was 88 years, 9 months and 5 days of age. Mike was born on August 9, 1929  in Rosati, Mo., to his parents: John and Rosa Spanvello Sbabo. Mike was a farmer and contractor/builder.  He enjoyed doing both.  He built a lot of homes in St. James and surrounding counties. He also loved his cows and farming. Mike is survived by his wife: Lora Jane Sbabo; son: Kent Jeffrey Sbabo and wife Michele of St. James, Mo.; daughters: Jana Sue Wassilak and husband Jim of Rolla, Mo.; and Jill Lyn Michaels of Rolla, Mo.; daughter-in-law: Sharon Sbabo of St. James, Mo.;  along with grandchildren: Aaron Wassilak (wife Kacie) ,Jennifer Latzke , (husband Scott), Heather Winters (boyfriend Steve Hopkins),  Jake Sbabo (wife Lacey),  Dan Wassilak,  Andrew Young, Jessica Roy (husband Dave) and Bethany Stratman, (husband Aaron) and  Alec Sbabo and  (wife Kelsey.)Mike also proudly has 18 great grandchildren!  He recently attended the first birthday party of his great granddaughter, Kolbie Sbabo & was in waiting for 2 more upcoming births (by granddaughters, Bethany & Jessica) Preceding Mike in death were his parents: John and Rosa Sbabo; one son: Terry Sbabo and siblings: brother, Louis Sbabo and sisters, Leanilda Funk, Anna Hession, Katherine Taibl, Marie Neuf, and Mickey Rutherford. Visitation for Mike will held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 5-8PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Craig Rippy officiating.  Pallbearers will be: Aaron Wassilak, Jake Sbabo, Daniel Wassilak, Andrew Young, Alec Sbabo and Jim Wassilak.  Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery in rural St. James, Mo. Memorials may be given to: Gasconade Christian Service Camp or Solid Rock Christian Church Pre-School. Cards are available at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
