Lois J. Hall of St. James, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 25, 2026 surrounded by her family at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Her life, spanning 83 years, was a testament to strength, kindness, and enduring love for her family and community.
Lois, the daughter of Virgil and Mary (Jones) Richter, was born January 27, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Travis Hall Jr. on July 24, 1959.
Lois’s legacy is reflected in the generations she touched as a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her daughter, Jewel, expresses sentiments that paints a beautiful portrait of her mother's love and kindness. Jewell shares, "Mom loved her kids and her grandchildren and one great grandson more than anything. She loved picking out gifts for them as kids and spent hours playing with them as they grew. Mom was passionate about things she loved. Her interests were fishing, gardening, vegetables and flowers, but loved flowers. She spent hours planning her next garden, and loved feeding the birds and hummingbirds. Mom was loved greatly and will be missed by so many, but the impact with her family will be greatest because she was the rock for the family."
She is survived by her loving children, her son, Travis W. Hall and her daughter, Jewel Hall-Bristow , who were the pride and joy of her life. Lois’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support have been guiding lights for them, shaping their lives with love and encouragement. She is also survived by her brother, George Caskey and her sister, Nancy Thompson.
Lois leaves behind a living legacy in her grandchildren—Vanessa, Travis, Trent, James, and Megan—and her great-grandson, Kendrick. She delighted in their achievements and milestones, offering wisdom, laughter, and constant encouragement. Her warmth and generosity created a family united by affection and mutual respect.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Travis Hall Jr.; her brothers, Virgil Hall and Walter Hall, and her sisters, Kathy Wells and Adele Ewing. Their memories together remain treasured chapters in the family’s history.
Throughout her life, Lois was known for her steadfast loyalty and her willingness to help others. Though each person who knew her will recall unique moments of kindness or inspiration, all will agree that her legacy is one of patience, integrity, and heartfelt love.
While words can never fully capture the depth of her life and the impact she made, those who mourn her loss take comfort in knowing that Lois's legacy endures through the many lives she touched. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
