Obituary

Lloyd William Richards of St. James, Missouri passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at his home in St. James, Missouri. He was 89 years of age.

Lloyd, the son of the late Purel and Ella (Riggs) Richards, was born November 4, 1934 in Huzzah, Missouri. He married Roberta Ogden on December 19, 1953 in Potosi, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta of St. James, Missouri; daughter, Betty Fowler; granddaughter, Chrissy Griser; and three great-grandchildren: Aiden Griser, Jade Griser-Ross, and Mazzi Griser-Ross.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tamila Sue Richards; brother, Lawrence Richards; sister-in-law, Avenell Richards; sister, Elenora Starks; and grandson, Jeffery Griser.

Lloyd loved the outdoors; he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed fishing in the area ponds, lakes, and rivers. He loved hunting during deer, rabbit, and squirrel seasons. He hunted mushrooms as well. He liked bluegrass music; Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers were his favorites.

He worked for General Motors in St. Louis for 30 years.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Mick Thrasher officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in the St. James Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Veterans Assistance League.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in St. James Cemetery.
