Lisa Deloris Gibson of St. James passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at her home.  She was 54 years of age.

Lisa, the daughter of the late Faye and Deloris Stokes, was born June 28, 1962 in Springfield, MO.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Gibson on April 12, 1990 at the Flags Springs Church in St. James, MO.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas of St. James, MO; two sons:  Christopher Burley of Columbia, MO and Sean Gibson of St. James, MO; one daughter, Jessica Leigh Gibson of St. James; one brother, Richard Stokes of Branson, MO; father and mother in law:  Thomas and Sandra Gibson and four grandchildren:  Isiah, Peyton, Juleigha, and Riley Rose.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Samantha Stokes.

Lisa was a kind and loving wife and mother.  She valued her independent thinking; one always knew where she stood.  She always tried to help others, especially when others came to her home.  One didn't leave her home without being offered something to eat.  She loved reading.  J. D. Ward and Christin Fehayn were her favorite authors.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, MO.
