Lillian Doris Smith of Licking, Missouri formerly of St. James, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 26, 2008. She was 74 years and 28 days of age.
Lillian Doris was born on April 28, 1934 to her parents Tom and Viola (Hebblethwait) Craig.
In 1951 she was united in marriage to James Donald Miller and then on August 15, 1979 she was united in marriage to Ronald Smith who passed away on February 4, 2008.
Lillian was a factory worker at California Manufactoring Company for 25 years. She was very proud that she got her GED at age 65. After California Manufacturing Company left St. James Lillian made pies for Mickeys in Rolla, Missouri. She was a faithful member of the St. James Christian Church since 1980. She loved to travel with the church's Keenagers. She also like to do funeral dinners, quilting and to sew clothing for the Shilo's childrens home. Lillian also volunteered at the Caring Center. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lillian Doris is survived by one son: Randy Smith and wife Kristina of St. James, Missouri; two daughters: Susie Swezey and husband John of Arkadia, Kansas; and Janet Douglas and husband David of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers: Allen Craig of Roseville, Illinois; and T.J. Craig of St. James, Missouri; one sister: Ruth Williams of Licking, Missouri; six grandchildren: Sean, Jared, Melanie, Steven, Brandon, and Lucas; and one great-grandchild: Gage Jeffers.
Preceding Lillian Doris in death is her parents: Tom and Viola (Hebblethwait) Craig; her husband: Ronald Smith; two brothers: Harley Dean Craig and Kenneth Dale Craig; two sisters: Maxine Galusha and an infant sister: Eldena Craig.
Services
Visitation for Lillian Doris will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 6 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Brother Ed McDonald officiating. Pallbearers will be Dick Tucker; Steven Craig; Randy Williams; Wesley Williams; Steve Rivers; and Jimmy Craft. Burial will be in the family plot in the St. James Cemetery, St. James, Missouri.
Memorials are suggested to the St. James Christian Church or Keenagers or Youth Group.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
