Kenneth "Ken/Kenny" Ray Spurling, 78 of Vichy, Missouri passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at his home.
He was born October 15, 1946 to the late Lester and Juanita Southard Spurling.
After graduating St. James High School, Ken attended State Technical School in Linn, Missouri to become a draftsman. Shortly after completing his degree, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War, spending one year at the military base in DaNahg.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he began working for Conductron in St. Charles before returning to Maries County to farm. He farmed for over 40 years before retiring to Vichy, Missouri.
He is survived by wife, Kathy of Vichy, Missouri; children: Jeannie Trimmer and husband, J.W., of Mound City, Missouri; Lisa Spurling of Ozark, Missouri; Jason Spurling and wife, Melissa of West Plains, Missouri; Jeremy Spurling and wife, Marlene of Columbia, Missouri; Angie Spurling Shanks and husband, Jaret of Belle, Missouri; and Emily Buckley and husband, Richard of Billings, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Juanita; and sister, Stella Spurling Davis.
Ken Spurling will lie in state from 5 to 7 PM Thursday, August 14, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 10 AM Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Lane officiating. Burial will be in the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorial may be given to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, www.vvmf.org at this website ; envelopes are available at the Jones Funeral Home.
