Kathleen Joan (Savory) Klossner was born on January 13, 1937, in Norwich England. Kathleen was united in marriage to John Glendon Klossner on September 25, 1954. They had five children. Kathleen passed into heaven on March 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and the compassionate staff at the St. James Living Center. She is survived by 4 children: Karen & Mark Davis, Kim & Gary Shockley, Kevin & Crissy Klossner, and Gary & Shelley Klossner. She has (12 ) grandchildren: Jason Davis, Devin Klossner, Victoria Abel, Ryan Shockley, Chad Shockley, Kory Klossner, Kayla Thompson, Jake Shockley, Blaize Klossner, Carson Klossner, Gage Klossner, and Brystol Klossner. She was blessed with (15) Great-Grandchildren: Blayden, Blake, Jace and Kennedy Klossner; Eli, Nobel, Judah, and Ezra Davis; Lanrdi and Harrison Abel; Ava, Gatlin, Isla and Eliza Shockley; Serber and Forbes Thompson. She is also survived by one sister Teresa & Jimmy Dye of Norwich, England, and several nieces, nephews,

and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, John Glendon Klossner as well as their son, John Randy Klossner. In addition, she was preceded by her parents, Cyril Gordon Goodyear "Jack" and Amelia Richenda Mary "Milly" Savory; one sister, Marie Anderson, and two brothers, Micheal Savory and Peter Frost.

Kathleen was baptized at the Christ Church New Catton, England. She loved Jesus, her family, and her friends. Glendon and Kathleen were lifelong members of the First Church of God in St. James, MO.

Kathleen met Glendon while he was serving in the United States Air Force in England during the Korean War. She was just 17 years old when he asked her to be his bride. He came home to the United States and immediately forwarded one plane ticket and a beautiful wedding dress (handmade with love by his mother) back to Kathleen so she could take a photo with her parents in her gown. It was true love as she used that plane ticket and made her journey to the The United States shortly after the package arrived. They created a beautiful marriage of 68 years, five amazing children, and some very special grandkids and great-grandkids. Kathleen and Glendon were farmers for most of their lives. Although she never claimed to really enjoy working in the hayfield, she spent many hours on the John Deere 40 with a 6 ft rake so Glendon could continue baling hay. If she wasn't on the tractor, she was in the truck bringing him dinner because his days went well past sunset and supper time. In addition to their yearly hay crop, their cattle herd was normally over 100 head which kept them equally as busy. Glendon bought Kathleen a "Hootin Annie", aka Kawasaki Mule, side-by-side so they could enjoy checking cows and riding around the farm in their later years. She was always pretty proud of her little rig.

Kathleen was a full-time mother and homemaker. After raising her 5 children, she spent several years babysitting and spoiling her grandchildren. Kathleen loved tending to her flowers and watching birds. She convinced her kids to create a bird sanctuary at her last two homes. She spent many hours watching and talking to the birds. As the old tale goes….when you see a cardinal it represents an angel checking on loved ones. When a beautiful cardinal often visited the bird feeders outside of her window - she knew that it was Glendon checking on her. Kathleen not only loved birds, but she was also an animal lover through and through. She always had a dog or a cat as her companion and gave them unconditional love and even sometimes a little McDonald's. In her late years when she couldn't physically care for an animal, she enjoyed "Archie" her "Joy For All Pet" is named after her love of England and the Queen's grandson. Kathleen would always smile when anyone would acknowledge her little companions. They meant the world to her and you knew it by the smile on her face.

Raising flowers and creating beautiful gardens was truly Kathleen's passion. It takes patience and perseverance and a lot of love to grow a beautiful garden. She found beauty and satisfaction in seeing the results of her labor. Kathleen felt peacefulness in nurturing living things and helping bring beauty and peace to the world. She loved to show her flower gardens to everyone who would visit. Somehow, on almost every trip to the farm, she would convince Glendon to dig up just a "few more" flowers and gather just a "couple more" landscaping rocks. Glendon always obliged, whether he wanted to or not.

Kathleen also loved to read. She was so proud that she read the entire Bible twice. She could quote scripture and always prayed for the love and health of her family and friends. She loved history and would share stories of times she endured during WWII when they would rush to bomb shelters and pray for the safety of all soldiers and families. She was extremely proud of her book collection and was happy to pass her books on to other avid readers.

Kathleen loved to travel and it only took a few minutes for her to pack their bags and be ready to head out the door. She enjoyed several trips to South Dakota with Glendon. They traveled to California, Michigan, Illinois, and Texas to visit Kevin and his family each time he relocated while working for Ford Motor Company. For many years you could find Kathleen in the bleachers at the Bolivar Race Track on Friday nights and the Lebanon Race Track on Saturday nights watching "Little Gary" race. She was his biggest fan and was loved by many other supporters during their racing years. Whether Gary was racing his first bomber, his late-model stock car, or even dirt track racing, Kathleen and Glendon were always there.

The beach was Kathleen's happy place. As a child, she would ride her bicycle several miles to spend the day at the ocean with friends. After Glendon retired, with the help of Kim and Karen convincing their dad, Kathleen was able to visit the ocean three more times. She enjoyed putting her toes in the sand and walking in the water while Glendon sat in his overalls and cowboy boots under the beach umbrella.

Kathleen will be missed by many family and friends, however, her zest for life will live on in her children, grandchildren, and friends. She would be so proud to know that she will be remembered for her love for beautiful flower gardens, her enjoyment of bird watching, and her love for her family and Jesus Christ her Savior.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at the Jones Funeral

Home in St. James with Don Carson Officiating. Pallbearers will be Devin Klossner, Ryan Shockley, Kory

Klossner, Chad Shockley, Jason Davis, Jake Shockley, Blaize Klossner, Gage Klossner and Carson Klossner. Honorary

Pallbearers will be Kevin Klossner and Gary Klossner. Kathleen will be buried beside her husband Glendon, in

the family plot at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial may be given to the Phelps County Animal

Rescue, cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home.
