IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Faye
(Wegner) "Judy" Schalk
July 20, 1950 – December 23, 2025
Our hearts are heavy as we share the peaceful passing of Judith "Judy" Faye Schalk, who left us on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family at her home in St. James, Missouri. At 75 years young, Judy's vibrant spirit touched countless lives throughout her remarkable journey.
Born on July 20, 1950, a beautiful summer day in St. Louis, Missouri, Judy was the cherished daughter of Robert Alvin Wegner and Era Nina (Myers) Allen. Her life took a wonderful turn when she found love with Robert Schalk, and they exchanged vows on August 25, 1991, in Owensville, Missouri, beginning a beautiful chapter together.
Judy's greatest pride and joy was her family. She leaves behind a loving legacy through her three devoted daughters: Brenda Bradshaw of St. James, Khrista Callaway (married to Daniel) of Lee's Summit, and Deanna Farel of St. James. Her family circle extends to include her dear sister Jean Shore Massey of Tyler, Texas, and her beloved brothers Robert Wegner (married to Theresa) of St. James and Charles Taylor of Norfolk, Virginia.
The sparkle in Judy's eyes was never brighter than when she was surrounded by her 14 grandchildren, whom she loved a whole skyful and always sharing her wisdom with them: Jacob, Jara, Anthony (married to Rachel), Paige (married to Jacob), Marcus (married to Rachel), Peyton (married to Noah), Jazarae, Isaac, Raegan (married to Brandon), Thomas, Jeremiah, Cyrus, Nathan, and Jeavin. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her four precious great-grandchildren: Paisley, Hazel, Hallie, and Louie, who brought endless smiles to her face.
Judy had an eye for beauty that showed in everything she loved. She was passionate about jewelry, finding joy in pieces both simple and ornate. Her home showcased her impressive collection of antique glass, each piece carefully chosen and treasured. But perhaps her most magical hobby was creating a haven for hummingbirds – her numerous feeders transformed her yard into a bustling sanctuary where these tiny jewels of nature would dance and play, bringing her endless delight.
Most of all, Judy's heart belonged to her grandchildren which she gave them, their softest place to land, and their greatest source of unconditional love.
Judy now rests peacefully alongside her beloved parents, her dear husband Robert, brother-in-law Joe Shore, her sister-in-law Fran Taylor, and her four precious grandchildren: Jacob, Jara, Thomas and Jeremiah, who preceded her to heaven.
Though our hearts ache with the loss of this extraordinary woman, we celebrate a life beautifully lived – one filled with love, laughter, family gatherings, and the simple joys that made Judy's world so bright. Her memory will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her gentle spirit and generous heart.
Judy's legacy lives on in every piece of sparkling jewelry, every hummingbird that visits a feeder, and most importantly, in the love that flows through the generations of family she so deeply cherished.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
