Joseph Leslie Smith of Rolla, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Joseph was 80 years, 7 months, and 8 days of age.

Joseph was born on August 24, 1927 to his parents Gilbert Leslie and Nellie Lou (Fore) Smith.

On June 18, 1947 Joe took Emily Marie Havens to be his bride. To this union seven children were born.

Joseph is survived by his wife of the home: Emily M. (Havens) Smith; one son: Joseph Paul Smith and wife Alice of Union, Missouri; six daughters: Mary Lindsey and husband William of Rolla, Missouri; Vickie McClanahan of Cedar Hill, Missouri; Pamela Bosch and husband Carl of Kansas City, Missouri; Barbara Wagoner and husband Richard of Rolla, Missouri, Melody Smith of Cuba, Missouri and Angela Scheel and husband Danny of St. James, Missouri; one brother: Vernon Smith of Paolo, Kansas; four sisters: Carolyn Johnson of Vida, Missouri; Alice Elms of Paolo, Kansas; Dorothy Robinette of Anderson, Indiana; and one step-brother: Johnny Profit of Rolla, Missouri, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Joseph will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding Joseph in death is his parents: Gilbert and Nellie (Fore) Smith and three sisters: Nancy Cook, Louise Moreland, and Nellie Lou Ireland; a son-in-law and a great-grandson.

Services
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 5 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.

Memorial Services were conducted at the Apostlic Pentecostal Church of Rolla, Missouri; 750 S. Rolla St. in Rolla, Missouri on Saturday, April 5th at 11:00 AM with Reverend Gary Teague and Phil Heaven officiating.
