John, the son of the late Marvin and Rose Tabor Williams, was born October 12,1933 in Rolla, Missouri.

On April 27, 1957 in Rolla, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Virginia L. Frey. Virginia entered into rest February 4, 2018 .

John F. Williams is survived by one son, John Joseph Williams and his wife, Roxanne of Pekin, Illinois; sister, Patti Storey and husband, Tom of St. Paul, Minnesota;  brother, Frank Wercinski and wife, Jan of Montgomery, Alabama. He is further survived by brother-in-law, Bill Frey of Jasper, Alabama.  He also has many surviving nieces and nephews that loved him.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Williams Wercinski of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, and his brother Joe Williams of Rolla, Missouri.

John Williams served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He was a boom operator on a KC-97 with the 306th Air Refueling Squadron based at McDill AFB in Tampa Florida. Upon leaving the Air Force, he chose a career that utilized the skills that he learned while he was in service and one that complimented his lifelong curiosity of aviation. He worked for McDonald Douglas for 37 years, and he held many interesting positions.

He was a very active person; he enjoyed bee keeping and traveling on his motorcycle. He was a private pilot flying many different types of airplanes. He had diverse interests, from rock climbing to scuba diving. He was even a volunteer at Cahokia Mounds.

Graveside Services with full military honors will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, July 8, 2024 at the St. James Cemetery. John's daughter-In-Law, Roxanne will officiate the service. Memorials may be given to the Missouri Assistance League, 620 North Jefferson, St. James, MO 65559 . The family would like to thank the gracious and kind workers at the Missouri Veterans Home for the compassionate care that John was given during his brief stay.
