Obituary

John Edward Phillips Jr. of St. James, Missouri passed away at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri on Thursday, August 14, 2014. John Phillips Jr. was 57 years, 8 months and 10 days of age.

John Phillips Jr. was born on December 4, 1956 in Fort Dix, New Jersey to his parents: John Edward and Patricia Wilson Phillips. John Phillips Jr. was united in marriage to Karen L Meyer on June 30, 1990 in Wichita, Kansas.

John Phillips Jr. loved bikeriding, fishing, hunting and golfing. He was a former St. James School Board Member; was a city councilman and was currently on the Park Board. John was an active member of the Sports Club, former President of the Sports Club. He also coached youth sports for years. He coached youth football, baseball, soccer and basketball. John was the General Manager of Grellner Sales and Service. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

John Phillips is survived by his wife of the home: Karen L. Phillips of St. James, Mo.; two sons: John Edwards Phillips III of Sedalia, Mo.; and Michael William John Phillips of St. James, MO.; mother: Patricia Wilson Phillips of Tucson, Arizona; two brothers: James Phillips and Dave Phillips of Tuscon, Arizona; three sisters: Sandy Phillips and Janet Phillips of Tucson, Arizona; Mary Phillips of Cuba, Mo.; and Brother-In-Law: Edward Vermillion of Sierra Vista, Arizona; and one uncle; several nieces, nephews; aunts and many cousins.

Preceding John Phillips in death is his father: John Edward Phillips and one sister: Delores Vermillion.

Services
Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2 P.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Father Charles Pardee officiating.

Memorial may be made to the Luekemia Society. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
