John W. Cole of Rolla, Mo. passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center. John W. Cole was 89 years, 10 months and 25 days of age.

John W. Cole was born on October 16, 1922 at Flat River, Mo. the son of the late William and Lucille Bennett Cole.

John was a Cartopher at USGS in Rolla, Mo, for many years. He was a 50 year member of the Elvins Lodge # 599 AF & AM Masonic Lodge in Flat River, Mo. He was a member of the Abou Ben Adahm Temple in Springfield, Mo., and was a member of the Scottish Rite. John was very active in Boy Scouts and had recieved the Silver Beaver Award. John and his wife Bernadine were active in the Eastern Star and John served as a Worthy Patron of the Rolla Lodge. John was a graduate of Flat River Junior College in 1943 and a grauate of University of Missouri College of Agriculture in 1946. He was a member of the Rolla First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving John Cole is his dear friends A.C. Harris and wife Phyllis of St. James, cousins: John Hadley Bennett of Jefferson City, Mo. Bess Stamel (Tom) of Ironton, Mo., Belinda Rollens (Don) of Cleveland, TN, Lyman Hardeman (Marie) of Austin, TX, Ben Hardeman(Nancy) Bryan, TX along with many friends and a host of friends.

Preceding John Cole in death is his wife Bernadine Mary (Govreall) Cole on March 27, 2008.

Services
Visitation for John Cole will be on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. The ceremonies for the Eastern Star and then the Masonic Lodge will follow the visitation at 8:00 PM.

Funeral services for John Cole will be conducted on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Rolla, Mo. with Lee Jennings officiating with John Hadley Bennett delivering the Eulogy. Pallbears will be Glenn Matlock, David Elrod, Phil Bailey, Keith Malone, Mark Eudaly and Clark Harvey. Burial will be next to his wife in the Ozarks Hills Memorial Gardens in Rolla, Mo.
