John Hawkins Cochran, Jr. passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Vichy, Missouri. John Cochran was 74 years, 6 months and 1 days of age.

John Cochran was born on October 27, 1935 in Houston, Texas to his parents: John H. Sr. and Genevieve Marion (Young) Cochran. John Cochran was united in marriage to Judith Anning in 1956. To that union two daughters were born. In 1980 John married Mary Ann Spurling and adopted Terasa (Siegele) Fadem of Tulsa, OK. and Richard Siegele of Tulsa, Ok.

John Cochran spent his early childhood and formative years in Houston and Lubbock, Texas. John graduated high school from St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin, Texas in 1954. John graduated from Texas Tech University in 1959 in Lubbock, Texas with a BA degree in Chemistry and a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. John Cochran began his career with Sinclair Refining Company at their Pasadena, Texas oil refinery. In 1963 he embarked on a new career as a computer systems analyst with the Univac division of Sperry Rand Corporation. He remained with that company until his retirement in 2000. In 2003 John and his wife, Mary Ann built their retirement home in Vichy, Missouri. Since John's retirement he enjoyed raising cattle and living in the rural community.

John Cochran is survived by his wife of the home: Mary Ann (Spurling) Cochran of Vichy, Missouri; daughters: Dr. Judy Kay Lewis DVM of Phoenix, Arizona; Kitty DeBock of Quinlan, Oklahoma. and Terasa Fadem of Tulsa, Oklahoma ; son: Richard Dale Siegele of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother: L. Wallace Cochran of Lubbock, Texas; and one sister: Bonnie Brown of Epswich, Massachusetts; along with nine grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.

Preceding John Cochran in death is his parents: John H. Sr. and Genevieve Marion (Young) Cochran.

In lieu of flowers; Memorials may be made to the Vichy Volunteer Fire Department in Vichy, Missouri.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.

Services
Services will be conducted on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10 AM at the Forest City Christian Church in St. James, Missouri with Gene Branson officiating.
