Janet Grace Snelson of St. James, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri. She was 87 years of age.

Janet, the daughter of the late Louie Dillon and Grace Louisa (Tomlinson) Plank, was born June 16, 1938 in Delevan, Illinois. She was united in marriage to Ervin Snelson in Crestwood, Missouri.

Janet is survived by two step-sons: Richard Snelson of Ballwin, Missouri and David Snelson of St. James, Missouri; two step-daughters, Kim Bouvatte of St. James, Missouri and Denise Barner (Kevin) of St. James, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Earl Pilger of St. James, Missouri; niece, Jaimee Stagner (Roger); grandchildren; nephews, David Pilger and Jeffrey Wiseman (Susan); great-niece, Cherie Pierce (Shane); great-nephews, Damon Thomas (Shelby) and Keyshawn Smith; and several great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; sisters: Faye Plank, Joyce Wiseman, and Patsy Pilger; brother, Louie Plank; step-sons, Alvin Snelson and Donald Snelson; and niece, Kim Pilger.

Janet found great joy in her life on the farm, where she nurtured her garden and delighted in picking wild berries. Her culinary skills shone through in her canned green beans, homemade pies, and jams. Janet attended the First Baptist Church in St. James.

Visitation will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Brubaker officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Wiseman, Damon Thomas, Roger Stagner, Kevin Barner, Keyshawn Smith, and Shawn Hill. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri.
