J. C. Hargrove of St. James, Mo. passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.  J.C. Hargrove was 79 years, 11 months and 20 days of age.

J. C.  was born on July 24, 1935 in Rives, Mo. to his parents: Thomas Presley and Georgia Russell Hargrove.  J. C. was united in marriage to Lylis Giesler  in 1976.

Mr. Hargrove was a sewing machine mechanic for several companies; and worked for the James Foundation in St. James, Mo.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

J. C. Hargrove is survived by his wife of 39 years: Lylis Giesler Hargrove of St. James, Mo.; four daughters: Brenda Latimer and husband Kervan of Piggott, Arkansas; Glenda Lawson of Paragould, Arkansas; Kelly Light St. James, Mo.; and Sheila Tucker and husband Lance of Warrensburg, Mo.; two brothers: Albert P.A. Hargrove and Marvin Rayburn Hargrove both of Kennett, Mo.; two sisters: Doris Akers of Rockford, Illinois and Mary Jane Kerley of Sullivan, MO.;  eight grandchildren: Michael Hargrove, Chad Tompkins, David Tompkins, Gary Tucker, Amber Miller, Kara Light, Makayla Hargrove and Carter Hargrove; eleven great-grandchildren: Ryan Tompkins, Keaton Tompkins, Elizabeth Tompkins, Caylyn Tompkins, Caleb Tompkins, Caylee Tompkins, Elijah Miller, Trinity Miller, Bailey Tucker, Joclyn Tucker, Declan Tucker, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

J. C. Hargrove is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Presley and Georgia Russell Hargrove; son: Jason Carter Hargrove; Great Grandson: Brody Tucker; Son-in-law: Rodney Light; three brothers: Thomas Loren Hargrove, James Earnest Hargrove, and Noah Paul Edward Hargrove; two sisters: Gladys Brand and Dorothy Sue Goodman.

Visitation for J. C. Hargrove will be on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 5 - 7 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Reverend  Craig Rippy officiating with burial in the St. James Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be  Michael Hargrove, Lance Tucker,  Jacob Miller, Gary Tucker, Warren Matlock, and David Watkins.
