Ida Irene Kirkpatrick (nee Underwood) of St. James, was born July 1, 1922 at Safe, Mo to Samuel Edward and Thelma Inez (Wools) Underwood and entered in to rest at The Golden Age Center - St. James on August 31, 2011 at the age of 89 years.

On September 25, 1942 Ida was united in marriage to Elmer Leonard Kirkpatrick. To this union three children were born: Elmer Wayne Kirkpatrick and wife Dorcas of New Paris, Ohio, Helen Loretta Kirkpatrick of St. James, and Martha Irene Hodge and husband Danny of St. James. Three grandchildren Rhonda Pickett and husband Duane and Darin Kirkpatrick all of New Paris, Ohio and Justin Hodge and wife Brianne of St. James, Mo. Three Great-Grandchildren and three Great-Great Grandchildren. Further surviving are her brothers Samuel Monroe Underwood of Oak Grove MO and Leland Joseph Underwood and wife Barbara of St. James, Mo., sister-in-law Julie Hicks of Shreaveport, La., Freda McMurry of St. James, Mo, Dorothy Carrow of Piedmont, Mo, Edna Dardin of Lampe, Mo., and Caroline Young of Omaha, Nebraska and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ida was baptized at an early age and was a member of the St. James Christian Church where she worked with the youth of many years.

Ida loved her family very much and was always elated when they could get together to visit. She was especially proud of all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed visits from her friend old and new in person or by phone.

Services
Ida Kirkpatrick will lay in state 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Saturday September 3, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 4, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Aaron Jeffers officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin Ross, Gary Underwood, Justin Hodge, Darin Kirkpatrick, Duane Pickett and Calvin Bond. Burial will be beside her husband, in the St. James Cemetery. Memorial may be given to the St. James Christian Church.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
