Herman E. "Benny" Benson of St. James, Missouri passed away at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on Monday, January 2, 2012. Benny Benson was 73 years, 9 months and 17 days of age.

Benny Benson was born on March 16, 1938 in St. James, Missouri to his parents: Herman Edward and Ruby Stambaugh (McDonald) Benson. Benny was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Parrish on November 18, 1961 at the St. James Christian Church in St. James, Missouri.

Benny worked for the St. James Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years; also for UMR for 24 years; International Shoe Company for 6 years; Bowling Coachlite in Rolla, Missouri for 5 years, and also for the Jess Nelson Bowling Alley; and the Movie Theatre in St. James, MO.

Benny Benson is survived by his wife of the home: Dorothy M. Benson of St. James, Mo.; one son: Bruce Benson and wife Laura of St. James, Mo.; one brother: Lawrence "Larry" Braziel and wife Sue of Portland, Maine; three sister-in-laws: Alice Gnemi; Helen Harris; and Shirley Parrish; along with one special grandson: Jeremiah.

Benny Benson is preceded in death by his father: Herman Edward Benson and his mother: Ruby Stambaugh (McDonald) Benson and step-father: Wilbur Stambaugh.

Services
Visitation for Benny Benson will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 4 - 8 P. M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home with Craig Rippy officiating. Music will be furnished by Avis Rainbolt the vocalist; and organist: Becky Rippy. Pallbearers will be: Randy Ray; Don Licklider; Tom Brown; Bruce Parton; John Douglas; and Scott McWhorter and Honorary Pallbearers will be the St. James Fire Protection District. Burial will be in the family plot in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens in Rolla, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the Solid Rock Christian Church in St. James, Missouri.
