Helen Loretta Kirkpatrick of St. James, Missouri passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri. She was 78 years of age.

Helen, the daughter of the late Elmer Leonard and Ida Irene (Underwood) Kirkpatrick, was born September 6, 1946.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Hodge and husband, Danny of St. James, Missouri; her sister-in-law, Darcas Kirkpatrick of New Paris, Ohio; her niece and nephews: Rhonda Pickett, Darin Kirkpatrick, and Justin Hodge; her great-nephews and niece: Kevin Ross, Cassandra Bond, Austin Kylar Hodge; her great-great-niece and nephews: Riley, Gage, Cain, and Cooper; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Elmer Wayne Kirkpatrick.

Helen had a quiet, gentle nature with a sweet, witty humor. She was a true friend to so many in our community. She was a cherished sister and aunt who loved to attend family events and to celebrate each family member's accomplishments. She enjoyed going to her nephews' sporting events. She was a life member of St. James Christian Church. She and her sister, Martha enjoyed singing duets together in their home church as well as neighboring churches.

She worked at Missouri Veteran's Home for over 30 years in the nursing services. She was active in the employees' organization, and she was an active participant in campaigning in Jefferson City to keep the Missouri Veteran's Home in St. James.

Her smile and kind words will be treasured in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Aaron Jeffers officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Hodge, Kylar Hodge, Darin Kirkpatrick, Duane Pickett, Kevin Ross, and Rodney Underwood. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.
