Helen Louise Rivers of St. James, Missouri passed away on a beautiful Sunday morning January 4th, 2026 at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was 87 years of age.

Helen Rivers was born December 29, 1938 at High Gate, Missouri the daughter of the late Thomas Burchard and Myrtle Ivy Beckham Kinsey.

On November 30, 1957 at the St James Christian Church, she was united in marriage to Robert Rivers. To this union 2 children were born.

She is survived by her husband Robert Rivers, one son Steve Rivers and wife Lori of St. James and one daughter Gay Rivers of Bellingham, Washington; one brother Welton B. Tony Kinsey of St. James, Missouri, along with her precious grandchildren Jerod Rivers and wife Ashley, Ben Rivers and wife Jessica and their children, Thad and Thatcher, Mason Rivers, Wesley Brown and wife April and Lucas, Mathias Brown and Landon, Uriah Brown and wife Amanda and their children Eliza, Jonah and Claira, Kayla( Rivers) Brown and husband Bryan and Emma, LilyAnna Rivers, Cameron Rivers and Kyrié Rivers, along with many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

She is in death by her parents, and three brothers, Lewis Bowles Kinsey, William Lavern Kinsey and Arthur Eugene Kinsey.

Helen went to work for Cardetti's Furniture the day after she graduated High School and worked diligently for the Cardetti Family for 45 years. Her life was centered around her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was very active in the St. James Christian Church all her life. She was always working with the youth dinners, helping in the nursery, she never missed helping with funeral dinners and visiting the shut-ins. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and when she talked about them, her face would always light up.

Helen Rivers will lie in state from 5-7 p.m. Friday January 9th, 2026 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 10th, 2026, a visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the Jones Funeral Home with Chris Foster officiating. Burial will be at the High Gate Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerod Rivers, Ben Rivers, Mason Rivers, Wesley Brown, Uriah Brown and Thad Rivers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mathias Brown and Thatcher Rivers.
