Obituary

Grady Allen Davis of St. James, Missouri passed away Monday, September 29, 2025. He was 16 years of age.

Grady, the beloved son of Dusty Duane and Candace Rene (Dover) Davis, was born August 19, 2009 in Rolla, Missouri.

Grady is survived by his loving parents, Dusty and Candace Davis of St. James, Missouri; his brother, Elijah Theodore Davis of St. James, Missouri; his sister, Addyson Michelle Davis of St. James, Missouri; his grandparents, Tammy Jackson of Fordland, Missouri; Katherine Dover of Rolla, Missouri; and Glenn Dover of Warsaw, Missouri; his aunts, Shannon Rector (Travis) of Owensville, Missouri and Tiffany Wright (Ely) of Rogersville, Missouri ; his uncle, Jeremy Davis (Amy) of Rogersville, Missouri; and his cousins:  Tyler Dover (Meghan), Alyssa Bertram (Nick), Lily Barker, Ella Barker, Kara Wright, Josie Wright, Calvin Wright, Hunter Davis, Levi Matthews, and Anthony Matthews; and other extended family. Grady will also be remembered by many friends; his school friends, baseball teammates, teachers, bus drivers, and a host of friends throughout the community will carry on Grady's legacy as they share memories of his laughter, of his kindness, and of his loving spirit.

Grady loved playing baseball for the St. James Tigers. He worked hard improving his skill each practice to help get the win for his team. He looked forward to playing the game each season as well as enjoying the camaraderie of his teammates. He was a great encourager of his family and friends. He was always offering to help others, and he delighted in bringing a smile to others' faces. He was great with children; he was truly our gentle giant.

He had a great love for being outdoors with family and friends. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, gaming with his friends and playing whiffle ball. He had an eye for design at an early age; he could build amazing designs with his many sets of Legos.

There are many words that would accurately describe Grady's interests and character, but one word stands above them all, patriot. Grady was a patriot. He was proud to share his love for his country, and he took advantage of every opportunity to learn about his country. Using his artistic talents and his love for his country, he created an American flag out of wood. In honor of Grady and his love for his country, the family is requesting family and friends to wear red, white and blue and your favorite pair of boots to the funeral.

Grady's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He taught us the importance of kindness, friendship, and the respect for our country.
