Gladys Marie Corey, affectionately known as "Marie," departed this world peacefully at her home on January 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 6, 1933, in Summerville, Maine, Marie lived a life filled with warmth and joy that touched the hearts of those around her.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Marie was proud of her family and their many accomplishments. Her legacy will be carried on by her sons, Scott Corey of Naples, Florida, and John Corey of Naples, Florida, her daughters, Donna Moore (Roger) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Sandra Farr (Terry) of St. James, Missouri, and Jeanne Clemons (Brian) of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Her spirit will continue to shine in the lives of her children, who embraced her unwavering love and support.

Marie dedicated much of her professional life to being a resort manager, where she skillfully managed the day-to-day activities, ensuring that guests felt at home. Her career reflected her personality; she was known as the "Florida Girl" at the St. James Senior Center, embodying warmth and friendliness that made everyone feel welcome.

Education was important to Marie; she graduated from high school and pursued further studies at Business School. This foundation enabled her to thrive in her career, always carrying with her a strong work ethic and a zest for life.

Marie found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often reminiscing about the countless hours spent playing cards with friends and passionately talking to the television during her favorite game shows. Her laughter and cheer were infectious, and her love for life inspired those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Sadly, Marie leaves behind the memories of beloved family members who have preceded her in death. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Ralph E. Corey, who passed away on December 17, 2017. Marie also mourned the loss of her son, William Corey, and several siblings. Her mother, Muriel Bumstead Gould, and father, Fred Gould, have also welcomed her into eternal rest.

As we remember Marie, we celebrate a life lived with love, joy, and dedication to family. Visitation services will be held at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri, on January 23, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., allowing family and friends to honor her memory and the beautiful impact she made in the lives of so many.

A Service of Remembrance will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday January 23, 2026 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Marie will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light whose love and laughter will echo through the memories of those she touched. The world is a little dimmer without you, Marie, but your spirit will continue to shine brightly in our lives.
