IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gene W.
Hart
April 6, 1948 – September 7, 2022
Gene W. Hart, formerly of St. James, MO, passed away September 7, 2022 at his home in Fulton, MO with his family at his side. He was of 74 years of age.
Gene Hart was born April 6, 1948 in Yoakum, Tx, the son of the late John W. and Betty Joe Powell Hart.
On August 30, 1969 in St. James, MO, Gene married the love of his life, Alice A. Skaggs.
Gene Hart is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Alice Hart; sons: Troy A. Hart and wife, Shawna of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Thomas L. Hart of Shelbyville, Indiana; and daughter, Genene A. Orndorff and husband, Darrin of Sunman, Indiana. He is further survived by his very special 11 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by sisters: Patricia Fay Welch and JoAnn Clinerd, and a great granddaughter, "Abbie".
Gene served his country for over 20 years in the United States Army. He had 4 overseas duties including Vietnam, Ethiopia, South Korea and Berlin. He had over 24 medals that he had received in the military. He was a humble servant, and he didn't enjoy any pageantry for his awards. He enjoyed working on his cars, and he passed his hobby on to his kids. Gene was always happy when he could just go for a ride in the country; he was also known for allowing his grandkids to drive the car when no one else was around. He was the BEST grandpa. He was best known for his sense of humor, always telling a joke. His wit and humor were with him up to the end; while in the hospital just days before his passing, he was telling jokes to the nurses. Even while on Hospice, he kept the family and nurses in laughter. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
