Eunice M. Neidert of St. James, passed away Wednesday July 13, 2022, at Phelps Health in Rolla. She was 93 years of age.

Eunice M. Neidert (Nee Parkins) was born September 16, 1928, to her parents John (Newman) and Vesta (Bessie) Parkins in Runa, VA.

Eunice was one of 11 children.  Her siblings were Herman (Lena) Permenter, Fred (Ann) Permenter, Mae (Homer) Hedrick, Jay (Maxine) Permenter, Alberta Smith, Ivy (Bo) Russell, Kathleen During, Ethel (Kenneth) Neidert, Junior (John) (Betty) Parkins and Lemon Estelle (died at 3 months).  All siblings have passed except a sister-in-law, Maxine Permenter.

Eunice met her husband, Borden Neidert at a midnight matinee on Christmas Eve in 1946.  They corresponded back and forth and met three times before they were married on March 12, 1949.

Eunice had 2 children, Robert (Bob) (Debbie) and Betty Gibson.  Eunice had 6 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren:  Jennifer (Matthew) Southard, Jeffrey (Lea) Neidert, Jeanette (Art) Padgett, Jeannine Branstetter, Matthew (Amanda) Gibson, Shelley (Chris) Giacolone, Caleb Pratt, Bryan Pratt, and DJ Pratt.

Eunice had 13 great grandchildren: Jacob Garner, Alyssa Garner, Joel Garner, Abigail (Tyler) Lambeth, Katlyn Branstetter, Ty Branstetter, Cally Gibson, Broc Gibson, Charley Gibson, Luca Giacolone, Dominic Giacolone, and Drake Giacolone.

She also had 8 great, great grandchildren and 1 one on the way. Eunice had 52 nieces and nephews including Tresa Medley (Ken), Charles During (Joan), Keith Neidert (Velda), Peggy Koelling (Norman), and Bernard Neidert.  She had many great nieces and nephews as well as great, great nieces and nephews.

Eunice enjoyed gardening when she was younger, picking grapes at her friends, the Mingos, in Rosati, embroidery, crocheting and cooking.   She loved trying out new recipes.

She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Eunice will be buried by her husband, Borden (her best friend), at the High Gate Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home with Brother Craig Rippy officiating.  Burial will be in the High Gate Cemetery in St. James, MO.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
