Etta Mae Sewell of St. James, Missouri passed away at the Golden Living Center-St. James on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 in St. James, Missouri. She was 102 years, 6 months and 8 days of age.
Etta Mae was born on February 14, 1905 at Jakes Prairie-Crawford County, Missouri to her parents George Washington and Cora Ann Risz Sellers. She was united in marriage to Azro Martin Sewell on August 18,1925 at the courthouse in Rolla, Missouri. To this union five children were born.
Etta Mae is survived by one son: Delmar Sewell and wife Nora of O'Fallon, Missouri; three daughters: Beul Bechdolt of St. Louis, Missouri; Edna Biermann of St. Louis, Missouri; Opel Mock of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister: Melba Wisdom of St. James, Missouri; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren., and a host of relatives and friends. She was greatly loved and will be missed by those who knew her and loved her.
Etta Mae is preceded in death by her parents: George Washington and Cora Ann Risz Sellers; two son: Alvin Eugene Sewell on December 24, 2006 and Everett Sewell and one daughter: Alberta Spurgeon. seven brothers: Louis Edwin; Thomas Vernon; James Elbert; David Levi; Charles Martin; George Ray and Harry Cornilas Sellers; and two sisters: Eliza Frances Hughes and Lucy Isbella Hammock.
Services
Visitation for Etta Mae will be Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 6 to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Missouri with Reverend Mick Thrasher officiating.
Pallbearers will be George Alexander,Greg Jovanovic,Allen Lanzarini, Andy Mangiaracino,Larry Pitts and Butch Schneider
Burial will be in the family plot in the St. James Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
Memorials are suggested to the First Assembly Church of God in St. James, Missouri.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
