Throughout her life, Ethel exemplified dedication and resilience, reflecting the strength of character that marked her journey from her rural beginnings to the many roles she embraced.

Raised in the country of Miller County, Ethel attended school in Vienna, Missouri, laying the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and commitment to family. Her industrious spirit shone throughout the years she spent working in factories, never wavering in her resolve to provide for those she loved. Known for her unwavering work ethic, she was a cornerstone of support and care for her family.

Ethel’s personality radiated through her determination and generosity. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who found joy in simple pleasures and family traditions. Christmas held a special place in her heart; eager to give her children a memorable holiday, she sought extra employment to ensure a joyful celebration. She cherished outings with Lonnie and Lana, where sharing a pineapple milkshake brought her delight. Her love for shopping, saving money, and traveling was a significant part of her life, especially her annual July trips and excursions to the River Boats. In her younger days, Ethel enjoyed attending dances and community gatherings, relishing the company and camaraderie.

Ethel was a faithful member of the Jefferson City and Fairground Church of Christ, finding spiritual comfort and community there.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Janet Cook of Vichy, Missouri; her brothers, Freddie Chrismon of House Springs, Missouri, and Donald Chrisman of St. Charles, Missouri; one grandchild, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. They carry forward her legacy of love and perseverance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charley Belk, who passed on August 28, 1994, her infant brother John Forest Chrismon, and her sisters Deloris Wilson, Louise Albertson and Vada Wilson.
