Erma Ellenor Turrentine of St. James, Missouri passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at Boone County Center in Columbia, Missouri. She was 94 years of age.

Erma, the daughter of the late Edwin and Hulda Zwerneman Peters, was born August 16, 1929 in Deanville, Texas. She was united in marriage to Hulen Turrentine on January 14, 1950 in Ringgold, Texas.

She is survived by her son, Charles Turrentine (Georgia) of St. James, MO, and daughter-in-law, Jeanie Turrentine of Fred, Texas; three grandchildren: Cassidy Hennessey, Jennifer Turrentine, Erin Lorance, and Jamie Herd.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hulen who passed away September 13, 1985; son, Michael; her granddaughter, Marissa Nicole Turrentine; brothers: Sam, Weldon, and Glen; and sister, Vicky McKenzie.

Erma was a devoted wife and mother and spent much of her early life taking care of her home while working at Texas Instruments and the Garland School District as an Administrative Assistant. In her later years, Erma actively participated in a Quilting Circle and created many beautiful quilts which she shared with family and friends.

A Graveside service will be held at a later date at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
