Elena Patricia Duncan of Rolla, Missouri passed away November 19, 2025 as a result of all-terrain vehicle accident. She was 28 years of age.

Elena Duncan was born April 13, 1997 in St. Petersburg, Russia; the daughter of Gene and Nancy Eckardt Hotz.

On July 15, 2024, in Rolla, MO., Elena was united in marriage to Brent Duncan. He survives at the family home.

Elena Duncan is survived by her parents of Cuba Missouri, husband Brent Duncan of Rolla, two daughters Georgia and Savannah Bouse.  Three brothers, Dennis Boone and wife Kimberly of St. Louis, Missouri, Dustin Hotz and his daughter Lily of Rockhill, Missouri, Gabe Hotz and wife Stephanie of Imperial, Missouri. Two sisters Dinah Hotz of St. Charles, Missouri, and Rachel Crowe and husband Matthew of Rockhill, Missouri, along with their children Elijah, Amira and Nathan. Along with aunts, uncles and many friends she had worked with.

Elena, was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, caregiver, and compassionate friend, who left this world while pursuing her lifelong dream of hunting the big buck she had long envisioned. Elena's spirit shined brightly, reflecting her deep love for stray animals, especially cats and dogs, whom she often rescued and nurtured.

Elena devoted her career to caring for others, spending many years at St. James Nursing Home and was currently working at Aurora Nursing Home in Rolla, Missouri. Her kindness and dedication to her residents were evident in everything she did, as she provided comfort and companionship to those in her care.

An avid lover of nature, Elena found pure joy in the great outdoors, embracing every moment spent fishing and hunting. The thrill of the chase was always close to her heart, with a little competition with her husband and close friends, she cherished each adventure in the nature. Cardinal birds held a special place in her life; to her, they were a spiritual sign, a reminder of hope and renewal.

Elena was also a devoted family woman, often found shopping for her husband Brent and her precious daughters. She loved spending hours on the floor, playing and laughing with them, creating memories that will be forever treasured.

Her warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Elena's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those she touched. May she rest in peace, knowing she leaves behind a world filled with adoration and cherished memories, forever hunting in the hearts of those who loved her.

Elena Duncan will lie in state 12 noon Tuesday November 25, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral Service for Elena Duncan will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 25, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Chuck Whitmire officiating. Elena's favorite songs will be played for her service. Memorials are suggested to the Rolla Animal Shelter or the Carol House Quick Fix Clinic of Rolla Missouri.
