Doyel Jasper
Morelock
January 22, 1937 – December 10, 2009
Doyel Jasper Morelock, age 72 of High Gate, passed away on December 10, 2009 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center after a lengthy battle with emphysema. He was born in High Gate, Missouri on January 22, 1937 to the late Clinton J. and Margaret E. (nee Satterfield) Morelock. Doyel graduated from Belle High School in 1955. While in high school he loved to play baseball.
After working thirty years as a Seven-Up distributor he retired and enjoyed his family and farm. Doyle loved hunting and participated in every different type of game season possible. Many life long friends were made through his hunting endeavors.
On May 26, 1956 he married his wife, Patsy J. (nee Carter). Together for 53 years, they lived in High Gate. To this union one daughter Doyla S. Morelock-Mentis was born. He was a long time member on High Gate Baptist Church.
Doyel is survived by his beloved wife Patsy, one daughter Doyla Morelock-Mentis (husband David) of High Gate; one granddaughter Dava Morelock Mentis of High Gate, one special great grandson, Layton Elliott of High Gate, Brother Loren C. Morelock, High Gate; extended family member Rose Harper Hall of Cumming, Georgia; sisters-in-law Vivian Ridenhour (friend Cornell Licklider) and Louise Medows (husband Junior), nieces, nephews, special cousins and several life long friends.
Doyel was preceded in death by his parents Clinton Morelock (1902-1984) and Margaret Morelock (1906-1999).
Services
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be conducted Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Boyd Gray and Matt Boyd officiating. Burial was in the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the High Gate Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
