Dorothy Juanita Wisdom of St. James, Missouri passed away at home on August 12, 2025. She was 83 years of age.

She was born October 3, 1941 at Rolla, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank J. and Opal Hester Self Adams.

On September 25, 1959, at St. James, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Robert Wisdom. He entered into rest November 12, 2005.

Dorothy is survived by sons: Roger Wisdom of Ashland, Missouri and Randall Wisdom of St. James, Missouri; daughters: Roberta Scheider of St. James, Missouri and Rhonda Gilbert of St. James, Missouri; sisters: Kathy Adams and Susan Neidert both of St. James, Missouri; along with 11 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, dear friends, and especially her precious church family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Wisdom; grandparents, Alice and Earl Self; one son, Richard Wisdom; grandchildren: Anita Wisdom-Scheider, Elizabeth Scheider, Gracie and Robby Scheider; son-in-laws, Joe Gilbert and Will Scheider, and in-laws: Gene Wisdom, Rose Smith, Larry Henson, Jesse Rinehart and Bob Mounce.

Beloved Dorothy and Bob, never turned any one away that needed a meal or a place to stay. They were blessed with many children that became like family to them.  Dorothy's love of God and her faith helped her go through many trails in her life. She was so happy to let God use her to spread his word. Dorothy was very active in her church and was a Sunday school teacher. Dorothy was not shy and did what need to be done, even driving the church bus. She would pick up those that needed a ride and take them home after services. She worked in the nursery, helped the women's ministry, helped with dinners, and anything else that need to be done. Dorothy and Bob spent many summers at the river with their family and made many happy memories. Dorothy loved the Pow-Wows with their dear friends, Junior and Louise Meadows. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her love and laughter.

Dorothy Wisdom will lie in state at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the First Assembly of God in St. James, Missouri with Pastor Mick Thrasher officiating. Dorothy's favorite hymns will be played for her service. Pallbearers will be Bradly Gilbert, Dustin Wisdom, Junior Meadows, Jeremiah Settle, Jimmy Persicke, and Brandon Steen. Honorary Pallbearers will be William Scheider, Billy Scheider, Jason Smith, Matt Steen, Brandon Steen, Nicholas Scheider, Edward Davenport, Bobby Roark, Kevin Watson, and Gene Roark. Burial will be in the family plot at the Adams Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the First Assembly of God of St. James, Missouri.
