Doris Gail Watters of St. James passed away Monday, April 10, 2023, at the St. James Living Center in St. James, MO. She was 95 years of age.

Doris, the daughter of the late Charles and Emilie (Hoehne) Moeslein, was born January 31, 1928, in St. Louis, MO. She was united in marriage to Kenneth A. Burch Sr. in 1946 in St. Louis, MO. He passed away in the spring of 1970. To this union, six children were born.

On June 15, 1974, she was united in marriage to Clayton Eugene Watters.

Doris is survived by her sons: Kenneth A. Burch (Jan) of St. James, MO; Lawrence Burch (Gloria) of Maryville, IL; Daniel Burch (Amy) of Spicewood, TX; daughters: Susan Wood (John) of Port St. Lucie, FL; Emily Parsell (Barry) Noblesville, IN; step-children: Clay Watters (Bobbie) of Couroe, TX; Toni Moore (Bill) Niantic, IL; and Greg Watters (Cindy) Staunton, IL; and brother, Charles Moeslein (Pat) of Newmelle, MO and David Moeslein of St. James, MO; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clayton who passed away on July 3, 2008; son, Steve Burch; brothers: Ed Moeslein and James Moeslein and sister, Gladys Abernathy.

Doris loved traveling, and she was fortunate to travel to many places across the United States. She and her husband enjoyed spending their winters on the barrier island of South Padre, TX. She spent many hours crocheting; she liked to make pieces for every family member and their homes.  In the summers, she enjoyed gardening.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2023, at Maramec Springs in St. James, MO.
