Donald E. Shimon, Jr., 67, passed away on February 10, 2025 at the St. James Living Center in St. James, Missouri. He was born on April 28, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa, to the late Donald Sr. and Nellie Shimon.

Donald is survived by his brothers, Tony Shimon (Mary) of Iowa City, Iowa and Richard Shimon (Roxy) of Hamilton, Ohio; his sisters, Cheryl Shimon (Deb) of Columbus Junction, Iowa, Jackie McWhorter (Mike) of St. James, Missouri, Linda Smith of New Haven, Missouri, and Tammi Anderson (Mick) of Paris, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Terri Studdard; his niece, Nicole Edwards; his nephew, Justin Studdard; and his great-nephews, Jonathan Shay and Logan Wright.

Donald was a kindhearted and caring person who found joy in watching sports especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time fishing with his friend, Will. His warmth and presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Graveside funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 15, 2025 at St. James Cemetery with Bro. Steve Betts officiating.
