Obituary

Donald Fredrick "Fritz" Huster passed away Sunday August 3, 2025 at Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri. He was 76 years of age.

Fritz was born December 7, 1948 the son of the late John and Clarise Sally Huster.

He was united in marriage to June Huster on May 10th, 1996. She survives at the family home.

Fritz dedicated many years of his life to serving his community. He began his career at Chrysler in St. Louis, where his work ethic and commitment to excellence shone brightly. After several years, he transitioned to a role that would define much of his life—serving as a Police Officer for the St. James Police Department for 13 years, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. His dedication to public service was evident in every interaction, and he was respected and admired by his colleagues and the community alike.

Fritz's career journey continued as he worked for Feeler Ready Mix and later joined the city's street crew, where he contributed to the maintenance and improvement of his beloved town. After retiring, he embraced entrepreneurship with his own Honey Bee Septic Cleaning Service, showcasing his unwavering work ethic and determination.

Beyond his professional life, Fritz was a man of simple pleasures and deep connections. He and his beloved wife, June, shared a passion for nature, often spending time together feeding the squirrels, birds, and rabbits that frequented their yard. Their love for the outdoors was matched only by their love for each other, creating a warm and nurturing home filled with laughter and joy.

Fritz was also an avid woodworker, and when his health permitted, he could often be found in his workshop, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected his creativity and skill that often turned into a wooden truck and trailer or airplane for one of his grandsons. Cooking was another of his great loves; he had a remarkable ability to turn a small pot into a feast fit for an army, always ensuring that family and friends were well-fed and cared for.

A true Mopar enthusiast, Fritz had a passion for fast cars that was infectious. His love for automobiles was a testament to his adventurous spirit and zest for life.

Fritz leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

He is survived by his Wife June Huster. Daughter, Amy Dahms of St. James, Missouri, Sons; Mike Southard (Dana) of Jefferson City, Missouri and Matthew Southard (Jennifer) of St. James, Missouri. Grandchildren, Trevor Pilotte, Alexander Southard. Dallas Southard and Dillon Southard.
