Delores Bennetsen of St. Jame passed away Saturday April 3, 2010 at the St. James Golden Living Center. She was 91 years 4 months and 10 days of age.
Delores Bennetsen was born November 24, 1918 in St. James the daughter of the late John William and Eliza Eleanor (Adams) Seaton.
On November 23, 1939 in St. James, Delores was united in marriage to Truman Keith Bennetsen. He entered into rest December 31, 2002.
Delores Bennetsen is survived by her beloved daughter Brenda Sportsman and husband Robert of St. Louis, and one dear sister Gladys Luna of St. James, along with 2 grandchildren: Jason Sportsman and Janet Dillon, and four great-grandchildren: Madison and Alec Sportsman and Eligah and Cole Dillon.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother: Virgil Seaton and two sisters Addie Bottroff and Beatrice Breuer.
Delores was a homemaker. She enjoyed embroidery work and liked to go on trips and enjoyed the scenery. She was a member of the Miles Club and was a member of the Baptist Faith.
Services
Delores Bennetsen will lie in state Monday April 5, 2010 from 6-8 pm at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
Funeral Service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday April 6, 2010 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Douglas Lane officiating. Pallbearers will be Quentin Satterfield; Jason Sportsman; Daniel Dillon; Scott Bartle; Don Davis; and Marvin Bartle. Burial will be at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial may be given to the Cancer Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
