Delbert David Light of St. James passed away Saturday at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James. He was 74 years 8 months and 25 days of age.
Delbert Light was born March 6, 1933, the son of the late Elvin James and Artie (Messie) Light.
Delbert was united in marriage to Joy Janiece (Shoemaker) in 1983 in St. Louis. Mo.
Delbert Light is survived by his wife Joy Light of St. James, Daughter: Laura Hembree of Highridge, Mo.2 Step- Daughters: Kim Kitson and Karen Izold of St. Louis; 2 Brothers: Henry Light of St. James and Earl Light of Newburg; 3 Sisters: Artie Hughes of St. James
Ella Faye Hughes of Mt. Home, Arkansas and Mary Schowengerdt of Rolla. Along with 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Light worked for 34 years for McDonald-Douglas in St. Louis and loved to work on his farm raising cattle.
Services
Delbert Light will lie in state from 6-8 pm Monday December 3, 2007 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday December 4, 2007 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Brother Stephen Brubaker officiating. Music will be provided by Stephen Brukaker, vocalist with Jeanette Ashley, organist. Pallbears will be Bill Rose, Billy Rose, Chris Rose, Chris Krupp, Walter Hembree and David Hembree. Burial with full military honors will be conducted at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial may be given to donors choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
