Obituary

Deborah Louise Schoolcraft, 69, of Fayetteville, AR, was called to eternal life in Jesus on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 1, 1951 in Safe, MO to Merel Jackson Steen and Irma Hermine (Rieke) Steen.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Springdale and was active in Lutheran Women's Missionary League at both Salem Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Church, where her husband served as pastor. She served in many facets in ministry including Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, Vacation Bible School, the choir, and used her sewing talent to craft banners for the various churches where she and her husband served. She loved giving of her time and talent for the Lord's work and was a powerful prayer warrior.

She was preceded in death by her parents and youngest sister, Beth Edgar.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Reverend Roger Schoolcraft, one daughter, Andrea Schoolcraft of St. Louis, MO, one son, Aaron Schoolcraft and wife Megan of Chaptico, MD, four brothers, Merel Steen of St. James, MO, Duane Steen of Klamath River, CA, Joel Steen of San Jose, CA, Terry Steen of Corpus Christi, TX, one sister, Kathy Glenn of Florissant, MO, and one granddaughter, Maisie Schoolcraft of Chaptico, MD.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 28th from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 3rd  at St. John Lutheran Church in St. James Missouri. A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery.
