David Wayne Douglas passed away suddenly Friday February 10, 2017 at his son's home in Rosati, Mo. He was 66 years of age.

David Douglas was born July 16, 1950 in Peoria, Illinois the son of the late Aaron LeRoy and Betty Prince Douglas.

He was united in marriage to Sandra Lee May in St. Louis, Mo. She entered into rest June 4, 2009.

David is survived by his son Matt Douglas and his wife Sherry of St. James; Daughters: Melissa Bisanar and Joe Ray,  and Stephanie Heisler and Dan Hensley both of Phoenix, Arizona. Brother: Bobby Douglas and husband Lisa of Springfield, Mo.; Sister Kathy Newberry and Fiancé Ron Clark of Overland Park, Kansas. He is further survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

David Douglas worked in construction most of his life until injuries prevented him to work.

The Douglas family will have a family gathering at Cherryville, Mo., on Thursday afternoon to celebrate his life.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
