Claire Ann Smith of St. James passed away Sunday October 2, 2011 at the St. James Golden Living Center. She was 90 years 4 months and 17 days of age.

Claire Ann Smith was born May 15, 1921 at Dillon, Mo., the daughter of the late Augusta and Frieda (Alt) Lupberger.

On June 30, 1979 in Crossville, Tennessee, Claire was united in marriage to Le Roy R. Smith. He entered into rest March 2, 2009.

Claire Ann Smith is survived by 3 step children and sisters: Joyce Watkins and Gussie Pohle both of Rolla, along with niece: Gayla Pohle, nephews: Dwight Pohle and wife Chris all of Rolla and David Watkins of St. James.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister Helen Briescemeister who passed away OCtober 17, 2001.

Claire Ann Smith was a beautician most of her life in Tennessee. After her retirement she moved back to St. James to be close to her sisters.

Services
Claire Ann Smith will lie in state at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday October 4th, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James

Graveside Services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Wishon Cemetery with Steve Barber officiating. Memorial may be given to the Wishon Cemetery.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
